Our story

A Proper Deli For Paddington

Ham On Rye started with a simple gripe: it was too hard to find a genuinely great sandwich. Not a sad triangle in plastic — a real deli sandwich, generous with the fillings, on bread that can hold its own.

So we opened a little shop on Latrobe Terrace and got to work. Everything that can be made in-house, is: braised and smoked meats, house mixes and mayos, pickled bits, cookies and brownies from our own oven. The sourdough comes in fresh every morning, and the specials board changes monthly so there's always a reason to come back.

The coffee gets the same treatment as the sandwiches — specialty beans, dialled in daily, with a rotating cast of house-made iced drinks like our 17-hour cold brew and whatever seasonal latte we're currently obsessed with.
